Annual Public Awareness Through Movement® Summer Intensive: Classic Feldenkrais Lessons [WEBSTREAM]

Come to camp this summer (from whereever you live)!

"I hope you don't stop teaching this class. I am moving so much better than I was before I started coming to class." (Bob, a former airline pilot, skier and athlete in his late 60s who had had multiple leg and knee surgeries)

That could be you, by investing a small amount of time into improving how you move!

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais developed over 1,000 Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons. Many are variations of “classic” or “seminal” lessons that are foundational to the Feldenkrais Method®. These lessons hold within them the inner dynamics of how we learn to turn our attention inward, pay attention to details, make distinctions, suspend what we do habitually, and experience new skill, coordination and dexterity. Additionally, these classic lessons are the roots of many lessons that flower out of them.

In this workshop, we will learn to use a potential within us to observe what we do, suspend what we do, and open to new possibilities and choice in movement and life.

It is novel, fun, and will help you improve the quality of how you move!

What you will gain from this class:

  • Significant improve your movement capabilities and knowledge of how to move more effectively and efficiently;
  • Use movement to promote mindful attention and exploration;
  • Learn how studying yourself in movement influences your ability to make conscious choices;
  • Develop skills in your personal life that have been stunted by difficult past experiences; recover abilities you lost with past injuries and trauma;
  • Learn about the relationships between the elements of human experience: thinking, feeling, sensing, and acting;
  • Observe how you make unconscious motor plans and learn to refine your actions;
  • Consciously improve your day-to-day quality of life.

Open to first-timers, old-hands and experienced practitioners.

To participate remotely, you'll need a computer and Internet access that meet the specifications listed here. Remote participants will not be able to ask questions during class.
